 Q.)  What is the price of levetiracetam?

A.)  The price of levetiracetam can range from 80 - 100 Rupees per tablet.


Q.) What was the daily routine before and after the illness?


A.)  Before the Illness:

Morning Routine:

- The patient woke up early in the morning and used to freshen up and take a bath

- She then made breakfast for her family members and eat it.

- She used to do any other household chores afterwards.

Afternoon Routine:

- She continued these chores till afternoon.

- She then used to make lunch and eat.

- She used to chat with her relatives or neighbours afterwards.

Night Routine:

- She used to make dinner for her family.

- She used to sleep relatively early.

After the first seizure episode:

The routine did not change after the first episode.

Q.)  Psychiatric component in epilepsy.

A.)  Psychiatric disorders affect 1 in 3 people with epilepsy and are due to psychosocial and biological factors. In addition, major social limitations and the unpredictability of seizures can lead to poor self-esteem and depression. From a neurobiological perspective, neuroimaging studies in people with primary psychiatric conditions such as depression or schizophrenia have shown abnormalities in brain networks overlapping with those People with epilepsy, however, can also present with psychiatric symptoms peri-ictally, before, during, or after a seizure, or as a consequence of the treatment like antiseizure medications or epilepsy surgery.

Psychiatric problems could be due to shared neurobiological mechanisms, a consequence of having epilepsy or simply due to the unfortunate occurrence of 2 conditions in the same individual.
